This garden in Seattle had some difficult grading and drainage issues with split level garden spaces. Our goal was to create a fun and safe garden for five children to run around and explore. ANR worked closely with clients to transform this challenging site into a kid's friendly garden, where children can run around and kick-back and relax. We incorporated edible plants in the garden, including strawberries, blueberry shrubs, and rosemary. The family enjoy this small urban garden design, which is functional, efficient and attractive.

The stair case was designed for children to allow easy and safe access between the upper garden and lower patio.The lower bench was designed to be long and wide enough to fit everyone.
