By the 4th year, many gardens start look more established and mature. The magic of growing plants transform an empty space into a place with more depth in a various dimensions. My personal garden is an on-going and ever changing project, where I try out different plants and designs. Since there is no irrigation system, most of plants are drought tolerant or seasonal plants. This garden is a naturalistic garden where individual plants find their own home in the garden and take care of themselves. I have been so impressed by native plants performance. They establish quickly and look beautiful throughout a year with no irrigation. I also learned that layering and dense planting discourage weeds to grow. But the most important fact for a healthy garden is the healthy soil with compost and lots of worms.
